We provide a full range of golf club repair and maintenance services from re-gripping to frequency matching and re-shafting.
We provide free pick-up and delivery of clubs (10 bags minimum) within 35 miles of our shop in Atlantic Highlands, NJ.
We provide FEDEX pick-up and delivery services for specialty items and small orders. Just call FEDEX, give them your address and our account number and they will pick up the clubs. When they are finished FEDEX will deliver them back to your location.
Custom Club Fitting
The most important aspect of club building and analysis is the fitting. We fit for grips, irons, shafts, wedges, and woods. Ball fitting is complimentary with any of these services. In all cases we use the most advanced club fitting techniques using our High Definition Golf “Championship” golf simulator and its proprietary golf club fitting module.
We also gather the basic statistics on your clubs such as loft and lie, club head speed, ball speed and launch angle. During this process you get to test different club head, shaft and grip combinations to find out which work the best for you. An important indicator of suitability is to compare flex performance to swing speed. Once we have your fitting specifications and have made analysis of your clubs we can make a recommendation as to what should be done to have your clubs perform the best for you. It may be a simple recommendation like bending clubs to adjust the loft or lie. We can also re-shaft and re-grip the clubs. Often it is only marginally more expensive to buy a new set of clubs. Armed with the information we have gathered in the fitting and measurement process you can order clubs from your golf pro or we can have them built for you and shipped directly from the factory to you.
The first thing we do is measure your current grip size shaft length and weight. If we are building a set of clubs we weigh the heads, weigh the shafts and frequency test the shafts. Next we determine the optimum swing weight for the club. Swing weight can then be adjusted by trimming the shaft tip. Loft and lie adjustments are made using the STEELCLUB Angle Machine to the new modern standard. The result – a custom set of clubs made just for you.

Club Maintenance and Refurbishing
We also provide complete equipment analysis, club refurbishing and annual maintenance programs. We grind out the nicks, polish the clubs, re-groove the heads and replace the grips. If the clubs need re-shafting we will recommend the best set of shafts. We do custom stamping of initials or other identifying marks for security.
Oftentimes performance of existing clubs can be achieved by dismantling and rebuilding of the clubs. Shafts with a spine must be installed correctly to achieve uniformity throughout the set.
Putter Fitting and Building
Putter fitting and building is also done in our shop using the Science and Motion (SAM) Puttlab. This device uses ultrasound to follow your swing path. This is the industry standard. This is used in conjunction with the Mitchell Putter Fitting Station. We design your club around your stroke under the tutelage of our full time Golf professional Mark Lederman. After the fitting is complete we build the putter for you using proprietary Mitchell parts. A putter designed and built exclusively for you with your initials stamped on the head!
We provide testing for your existing putter using the SAM PuttLab and can bend the putter to perfect specifications using our Mitchell TourGage Digital putter machine.
Using high speed photography with shutter speeds up to 1,000 f.p.s. will show you how the ball is reacting to your putting stroke. (Normal video is less than 30 f.p.s.)
We use Mitchell Golf equipment and supplies exclusively. This is the industry standard.
